Daxel Tl Posts: 3 USA | Posted - 7/29/2000 5:52:23 PM my computer system was zapped during a lightning storm. I was sent a new monitor then a new video card and then a new PCI modem...........and since then I have been sent three more of the same PCI modem. They all give the same results on the following tests............ I asked Micron PC what they would do if this modem did not connect at 56K test levels............. and they said they would recommend sending out a replacement motherboard. With these test results and the history behind my computer does that make sense? Should I go with the new motherboard? My modem now downloads compressed files in the 5.30 Kb/sec range. Using Hyperterminal and entering ati6i7i11y11 I get: OK Chars sent 2560 Chars Received 8281 Retrains Requested 0 Retrains Granted 0 Data Compression V42BIS 2048/32 Disconnect Reason is DTR dropped Configuration Profile... Product type US/Canada Internal FLASH date 7/15/99 DSP date 7/15/99 U.S. Robotics 56K FAX INT Link Diagnostics...
Freq Level (dB) 150 22
³ Cannot determine 56K capability, test must run in V.34 mode. Minutes Used: 0 Thank you for calling the U.S. Robotics BBS
Any help would be great !! John King |
SARGE Tl Posts: 743 USA | Posted - 7/30/2000 3:15:45 PM I don't see a problem, except with the USR test line, which is junk anyway. |
Daxel Tl Posts: 3 USA | Posted - 7/30/2000 3:46:58 PM Thanks Sarge !! I was going nuts trying to figure out why I couldn't get a confirmation of 56K on that 3Com site !! Everything else with the modem seemed to be testing pretty well !! Thank you for spending the time to check out my posting and for helping me out with your answer ! John |
