i've been living at my grandma's for a short while now, and My modem worked fine, and still does Most fo the time, however, every now and again..like as of this current moment and the two days proceedings my connection speeds have dropped from the usual 48 or so to a measely 21 and 19 and right now 12. It started this time saturday night, but it was working fine and connecting at 50 the same saturday morning..I have two computers and have had the same problem with both, so I seriously doubt it's the actual modem or other computer hardware..I'd call the phone company but theyw eren't the ones that installed the phoneline. This is really starting to bother me seeing as it seems to happen at the most inopportune times. Along with the slow speeds it also tends to disconnect at it's own leisure at random time frames..any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Check with your modem connected directly to demarc or with all other devices disconnected from the line -

If you still get the same thing happening, it's likely to be either the telco portion of the line (past the demarc) or a bad modem.
More info on the modem (what kind/chipset/driver version) and modem post-call diagnostics would be necessary for further evaluation -
