Hi,

I have a USR610B modem with firmware and driver at version 5.22.70.

I have the same problem under Windows98 and Windows XP. I have installed the ICN from USR.

I connect to an ISP which provides V92. Even though the modem is a 56K, as I have more than 1 AD, I cannot connect above 28K, and usually I connect at 26.4K.

Problem: ICN does not work. Doc says that ICN will not work if the connection is in V34 mode.

After some checking, I, in fact, connect under V34, which explains the problem with ICN.

I have tried to connect under V92, with no luck. If I disable V34, I connect under V32, etc... never under V92.

I have a laptop with an integrated PCTEL modem, and on this one the Incoming call detection work, and I can take the calls.

Any idea how to force my USR5610B to connect under V92?

Thanks

v.Richard

Try the modem with no extra initializtion string; post your modem log
www.modemsite.com/56k/modemlog.asp
However, USR modem may not permit any V.92 functionality when the 56k/V.92 handshake fails; other modem makers' drivers still retain V.92 capability even when 56k connect fails and modem fallsback to V.34.....

Aloha! Richard.
