Jaap Tl Posts: 1 Zambia | Posted - 5/9/2005 8:05:31 AM I am looking for a modem to hook up to a windows TAPI app. A lot of modems claim to be TAPI compliant but apparently most of them do not seem to be FULLY tapi compliant, resulting in the app. not being able to make a call and start a voice connection. Has anyone ever had any experience with this? Does anyone know a good TAPI compliant modem? TIA...

Basically, the modem's configuration/capabilities/commands are defined; a TAPI software application doesn't need to know what the commands are. The problem you describe is likely the application - or at least related to the application: if it says you need a "TAPI-compliant modem" they haven't given you a good requirement for the modem. You need a voice modem to use voice software - a TAPI-compliant modem does not have to be a voice modem...., etc. Aloha! Richard. |
