Hello,

the modem hangs up if the current logged in user logs off. I think this is a normal Windows feature, but in my case I don't wont to hang up the connection, because the connection was established by a windows background service which runs independent of logged on users.
Is there a possibility to avoid the hang up? Registry key, driver...?
Modem is an internal one. Lucent WinModem Driver.

Best regards,
Martin

What version of Windows is this?
Is the connection established before any user logs in?

Aloha! Richard.

Hi,

it is Windows XP with Service Pack 1
The connection can be established before one user is logged in.
In my case the user is logged in, system service is dialing and the modem hangs up if the user logs out.

Set the modem log to append to the log file. http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/mode_log_commands.mspx . Go through your boot up / place call / user login / user logout / drop call scenario. Send me the log file: edschulz@agere.com -- or maybe you can study it yourself. If some application is asking the modem to disconnect, then it's not a modem bug.
