im working on a project to connect two computers that are near to each other ,and i am using external modem to connect.When i read some resources it will be possible if I using null modems.Can it be possible to communicate them with the external modem.
please answer me ,i'm in stack!

Null modem generally refers to device that goes between 2 serial ports (the cable from computer->modem) and aren't needed if you intend to use a phone line between the 2 modems.

The challenge becomes to get the 2 modems to establish a connection on the dry phone line (no switch/dial tone/ring voltage). It's also necessary to use modem that does not have a line-powered DAA (if you hear a 'click' when the modem goes off-hook, you are on the right track). It is necessary to have 1 modem answer (ATA) while the other is told to go online (ATO).
If the locations are close enough, using CAT5/network cards is a better/easier solution.
