Hi everyone,
I have this PCI Motorola SM56 data fax modem, I bought it in 2001. I'm trying to make it work on a pc with windows xp. The thing is that I can't find the correct drivers. Does anyone know where I can get the windows 2k/xp drivers for this old modem? I tried the drivers on motorola's web site but they seem to be for newer products.

Thanks, Omar

I have an SM56 on one of my computers as well. Ive spent a lot of time trying to make it work but havent had any success. The motorola website does have an SM56 driver on their website,

http://www.motorola.com/softmodem/driver.htm (this should be the right one, cos i think SM56 was the only softmodem motorola ever made)

I couldnt get mine working with any of these though. I remember long ago i got this crappy modem working with an older driver, but have since lost that driver, and havent been able to find it again on the net. As i remember it wasnt specifically an XP/2k driver (i think it was win9x) but it got the thing working under xp.

Give the ones from the website a try, if that doesnt work, look for an older win9x driver. Good luck
