| freespirit Tl Posts: 2 USA | Posted - 7/25/2005 3:27:17 PM    I've got an Agere PCI soft modem/AT&T LT WIN: These are the same thing, right? There are two connection sites on the back of the modem: "line" and "phone". I know this sounds absurdly basic, but you've got to start somewhere, how do I connect the phone properly to these connections so as to send and receive faxes? I've no installation instructions. I've got a DSL connetion that connects "in" on a surge protector with another phone line connected to the "out" on the surge protector. Is this "out" line the line I'd use for the modem connections? | v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 7/27/2005 10:54:38 AM  No, you name 2 different modems - AT&T/LTWin aka Agere Win Modem, LT Win Modem, Lucent Win modem. www.modemsite.com/56k/ltwin.asp Agere PCI Softmodem - aka SVP You do not need a phone connected to the modem to use the modem at all. The 'line' jack needs to be connected to your phone line. Aloha! Richard. |
