When my clunkly external modem died I thought I'd replace it with one of those nifty internal models with all the bells and windows.

All is going well with the SM56, except I can't turn off the speakerphone function. This chipset is packaged under the Genica brand. There are plenty of drivers on the CD, but nothing in the way of control software.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Not sure I understand you.
If you want to turn off the speaker so you don't hear call progress, put
M0 (m-zero)
in extra settings.
