Each time that I now connect to the Internet, I have to reinstall my Swann Speed Demon 56k modem.

It worked perfectly for about one year. Now for about two weeks I have to reinstall it. I have tried all the usual things like uninstalling the modem and reinstgalling the modem with the suggetsed driver supplier by Swann.
Whenever I disconnect from the Internet the settings are lost.
Anyone got any ideas why this is suddenly happening. I am using WinXP Pro.

Try putting the modem in a different PCI slot.
If that doesn't help, you may need to remove the modem completely from Windows, possibly including manual edit of the registry to resolve. (In particular, deleting keys that enumerate the modem hardware.)
