psyko12 Tl Posts: 6 Philippines | Posted - 11/4/2005 8:29:26 AM uhm im a newbie when it comes to driver updating/hardware updating. do you mind if i ask for some assisstance from you, mind suggesting which driver i take or use from this website thanks and sorry for the trouble |
v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 11/8/2005 9:07:11 AM I would start by reading www.modemsite.com/56k/soft56.asp Then, perhaps, try the Conexant generic driver. Aloha! Richard. |
psyko12 Tl Posts: 6 Philippines | Posted - 11/10/2005 7:56:28 AM i have read what you posted and got the hsf driver. i used that because i used the app at conexant which lets you know what chip or modem that you have. it said on the app Conexant Churchill HSF modem so i got HSF modem generic drivers but now i can only connect at 33.6kbps not like b4 which was either 44.00 or 45.2 kbps thanks |
v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 11/12/2005 10:02:27 AM Well, you could go back to the driver you had before; But, if your connection is solid (no disconnects or trouble), it could be the phone line isn't capable of reliably supporting the higher speed with the modem/drivers produced by Conexant. If you have opportunity to try a different modem on same phone line, it would be interesting to see how it would compare. Aloha! Richard. |
psyko12 Tl Posts: 6 Philippines | Posted - 11/12/2005 11:58:17 PM hi, ive tried my old modem the external 33.6 kbps 1 it works with no disconnections, i borrowed my friends internal 56kbps conexant chip modem same thing... disconnects for some time and when i used generic its still 33.6 anyway maybe i should buy a new modem? you think? or conexant + windows xp = suck? ty for all the support God Bless! |
v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 11/14/2005 6:12:10 AM I would suggest try an Agere softmodem if you can; however, you might have line conditions that will cause problem with all 56k modem --- there's no way to tell for sure without actually trying a different 56k chipset.... Aloha! Richard. |
