I have a conexant D110 MDC V.92 modem
ati3 show SoftK56V_B2.1_V7.23.01
I cant get this modem to follow windows baud settings. Everytime I have to dial into a system I have to manually set the baud rate via this AT command
at +MS=,,,9600,,9600
That works and all but is there anyway to get this modem to follow wither whats in window or whats in my dialing program ?

For softmodem, the port speed settings do not matter because there is no real COM port - it's a 'virtual' port created in software that is not limited like traditional COM ports are.

To set the speed, you can put a protocol select setting in extra settings in modem properties -
www.modemsite.com/56k/ms.asp
www.modemsite.com/56k/initmagic.asp

If you want speed limited to a 9600bps rate, the init string you use (without the at) can go in extra settings - but, better to use the
+MS=V32,0,0,9600,9600
which will prevent modem from trying to negotiate V90 & V34 protocols - should result in faster handshake.

Aloha! Richard.
