Bovon Tl Posts: 3 USA | Posted - 1/20/2007 10:48:52 AM I have been a "member" of DriverGuide.com for quite awhile, over several different ISPs. Recently, while attempting to setup an older (but still NIB) Kodak Printer under Win2K, I found the setup CD only had setups for Win95/98/SE/ME/. I wound up at DriverGuide.com after a search for the files led me there. My old user name (old email address) was invalid..so..like an idiot, I entered my current POP address. That night..some 10 hours later, I began receiving tons of spam. I was getting 3 to 5 spam mails a week prior to this..now, I am receiving 35/40 a day. DriverGuide.com has become a collector/seller of current email accounts. To top that off, yesterday I would have received a virus, had not my ISP caught it! "The message or an attachment did not reach the intended recipient(s). Subject: Radical Muslim drinking enemies' blood. Reason: virus detected (/mxl/spool/b8/b8381b54.441105328.1562.mxm47aec/BASEFILE.virus.out.att.03->(UPX) is a security risk named W32/Downloader.AYEN) This posting was for your benefit...my advice would be to stay as far away from DriverGuide.com as possible. |
