having just bought a new PC with Vista and an inbuild Conexant modem cx11252-41z the driver is not compatable. is there an updated driver for this modem to run on Vista

Yes, there are Vista drivers - the trick is to find/get them since Conexant itself has not provided them for end users.

The supplier of your PC/modem should be the one to supply them. If they don't, I would think about returning the computer and getting refund.

Otherwise, your only recourse at this time would be to find a vendor site that uses the modem and offers a driver for download.
