v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 6/14/2007 11:01:23 AM What system? In other words, your computer is what, running what version of Windows, etc. Likely answer: the driver for the phone-modem is likely to be cause of problem - because phone models change so rapidly and this one is several years old already, if there hasn't been an updated driver, unlikely there will be one and unlikely you will be able to solve problem. However, it is possible there is another cause (in your system/setup) of problem. Aloha! Richard. |
sharadprasad Tl Posts: 3 India | Posted - 6/15/2007 9:13:41 PM hi richard.. regarding my system..it has a intel pentium 4 processor (1.7 ghz)..motherboard 845gvsr..i am using windows xp (sp2).. Even i think der's a problem with the driver..so, i was wondering if you can tell me are there any extra initialisation commands that i can put in the advanced modem settings that might help..there is also an advanced port setting option..will seting the transmit and receive buffers to some particular values help?? please do reply with your suggestions.. |
v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 6/16/2007 9:32:41 AM Since I don't have the phone & not familiar with its setup as modem, can't be of too much help. However, it is very unusual for anything to completely hang WindowsXP - is that what happens? Even CTRL+ALT+DEL does not do anything when you hang? If you are getting a total lockup of your system, and you can't find a different driver for the phone (assuming the lockups go away if you uninstall the phone),time for a different phone. Aloha! Richard. |
sharadprasad Tl Posts: 3 India | Posted - 6/16/2007 2:34:39 PM The system only hangs momentarily when my connection drops..but this souldn't be happening, rit?? i guess would be difficult finding the updated drivers.. anyways, thanx a lot.. |
v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 6/23/2007 11:26:21 AM Hanging system when call drops is not totally uncommon --- function of modem and [poor] driver design. Depending upon other tasks running, this hang should only be a few seconds. Aloha! Richard. |
