Next to me I have a Acer Extensa 4100 notebook with also a SmartLink 56K Fax Modem and o this with the same line everything is working properly. I checked both settings and they are all same exept Control Panel>Phone and Modem Options>Advanced>NDIS Proxy TAPI Service Provider>Configure>Media selector is on 'Group 3 Fax' at the notebook and on 'Data' on the PC. But when I change the setting on the PC to 'Group 3 Fax' the new selection does not apply, it always auto switches back to 'Data'. As I need the fax very urgently I hope that you can assist me in this. Thanks Khan |

khan_cross Tl Posts: 2 Turkey | Posted - 7/6/2007 3:20:01 PM can it be that my new modem does not have a fax feature? because at my notebook the device manager shows a 'smartlink fax-modem' and my pc shows a 'smartlink voice modem'. |
v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 7/9/2007 7:00:31 AM No, the modem does support fax. See www.modemsite.com/56k/fax.asp Aloha! Richard. |
