How do you get a Long Distance Authorization code to work with the Long Distance number. I have tried almost everything I can think of and still can not get my modem to connect. I can connect with a local number but not on long distance and I believe it has to do with the placement of the authorization code.

You would have to include commas in the number you dial to give the system enough time to answer and be ready to accept the authorization #.
By default, a comma in the number to be dialed makes the modem pause 2 seconds.
So for example:
Another way would be to connect and use a regular telephone to the modem line and dial the local # manually, and to then start the internet connection when the system is ready for the authorization code/#. The # to dial would be only that portion, and you would have to include special initialization for the modem so that it does not try and detect dial tone before dialing.
