We are using a device that shares a fax line and the modem is always ringing busy from teh computer. When I place my phone in the modem telephone port and dial out the number it goes through. I have replaced the cpu thinking the modem was bad. That is the standard procedure with this company. Replacing the modem is a no brainer but they have a policy of replacing the cpu. Not sure why it is ringing busy. We have tried different numbers to use and isp usernames etc |
| v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 11/19/2007 6:08:35 PM  Check the modem log - see what number is actually being dialed. www.modemsite.com/56k/modemlog.asp You may need to add e1 in extra settings for the modem (initialization string) in order for the # to be displayed in the modem log.
