I need help! I "downgraded" my mom's compaq presario from Vista to XP. Everything seems to be working well except the modem can not be detected and it is not listed in the device manager. I am no techie so I am hoping it is something really simple.

It may sound trivial but you can do couple of things.

1- Go to Control Panel, Click Add New Hardware and let ur machine to detect it automatically.

2- If the above doesnt work, and u've got the driver CD of ur modem. Then install it manually from CD.
