Hi, I recently installed a USR5637 USB external modem on my laptop. Everything is working fine except I can't hear a dial tone or handshake when I dial up. I've checked all of the usual suspects but nothing seems to work. This is the first time I've used a modem of this type. Does anyone know if I SHOULD get a sound? I'm using Windows XP Home, Service Pack 3. I contacted USR a couple of days ago but so far no reply.
