teomar Tl Posts: 4 USA | Posted - 2/5/2004 9:11:53 AM I have downloaded the 'audiomodemcombo.exe' file from HP, have unzipped it to a folden in c:\modem2kfile. I'm trayin to installed the drivers, control panel/add hardware. I get to the point where in 'have disk' /browse/c:\modem2kfile. There are two .inf files No matter what file I select, the 'select manufacture from the list' is displayed empty. There is no selection list. Can you help to find out what is wrong with this inatallation. |
charles Tl Posts: 5879 USA | Posted - 2/5/2004 10:28:31 AM I would put the drivers in a folder on the desktop, unzip them there. I think the above page tell of a problem with install of this modem in 2000. I think the auto drivers need to be installed first.I would remove the auto drivers from pc first them any modems listed in the device manager or unknown device. remove any modem drivers from add/remove. reboot and windows should find new hardware, install the auto drivers than should find modem install the modem drivers. The two file are auto, modem inf files. |
charles Tl Posts: 5879 USA | Posted - 2/5/2004 10:40:30 AM start menu / run / Devmgmt.msc select the PCI Simple Communications Controller open its properties / driver page Select Update Driver Select choose from Display a list of known drivers ... Select modems select Conexant as the manufacturer (Rockwells modem group). The Rockwell HCF PCI Modem is the only choice. " . After reading this I used device manger and corrected PCI Comm controller and set it to Conexant driver by choosing from the list. And added modem driver from HP files I extracted earlier. Now my PC is doing well in audio and modem. In my research I have seen lots and lots of posting on this topic where people has asked question but no one has answer. My HP model is 8665C Hp Pavilion. |
charles Tl Posts: 5879 USA | Posted - 2/5/2004 11:15:41 AM Might try these drivers. Put then in a folder on the decktop and unzip them in the folder so they will be easy to find on install. ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/personal_computing/software/camhsf2k.exe http://www.vee90.net/vblite/showthread.php3?threadid=164
