Likely solution - force modem to connect at slower speed = reduced error count. www.modemsite.com/56k/x2-linklimit.asp www.modemsite.com/56k/ms.asp To see details/diagnostics of the connection - Aloha! Richard. |
GiDDY_SOUL Tl Posts: 4 Bangladesh | Posted - 6/23/2007 5:39:16 PM Here is a link of how the data transmission looks like. Even if it's the auto retrain feature. I see no speed differece in the picture after the pause. Can i disable auto retrain or whatever is causing it? GiDDY_SOUL Tl Posts: 4 Bangladesh | Posted - 6/24/2007 11:31:43 AM I usually get speeds of 49.2 kbps. Even if i force connection speed to 33.6 kbps... My modem still keeps pausing after sometime. I used a different modem too, but doesnt help. |
v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 6/25/2007 8:10:28 PM Suggest to check your post-call diagnostics - www.modemsite.com/56k/diag.asp It is also possible that it has nothing per se to do with your modem but is something related to your ISP. Check a Coenxant command reference manual for the ability to disable fast retrains, and for using different options/protocols for error correction and compression. Aloha! Richard. |

v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 7/2/2007 7:37:51 PM If I'm not mistaken, those diags indicate the REMOTE modem requested the retrains. Generally, you can eliminate retrains by reducing the maximum connect speed which makes the connection more reliable/less susceptible to noise. I would experiment with different speed limits, both up and down stream limits. Aloha! Richard. |
