logangregor Tl Posts: 7 USA | Posted - 9/10/2004 12:50:26 PM I have two modems that I would like to compare. Both Modems are external and hardware controlled. The first is a USRobotics/3Com Courier V Everything. THe second is a Creative Modem Blaster. Because of the distance I am from the phone company I will not be able to connect at any higher than 26.4. My internal USR 56k connected at 26.4 and my Creative Modem Blaster External also connected at 26.4 but the External USR/3Com Courier V Everything connected at 24...repeatedly. I have read that connection speed isnt necesarily everything that modem companies sometimes make it up to be so I appreciate it if anyone knows some changes that I can possibly make to set the modem to run as smooth as possible. If anyone knows any tests I could perform to test the performance of each modems, I will then post the results of each modem. I Appreciate any of Your Help and Suggestions Thanks |

Might try the AT&V1 and/or AT&V2 in hyperterminal to check connection. http://modemsite.com/56k/rockacf.asp
