gilbo Tl Posts: 1 USA | Posted - 7/24/2004 12:34:34 PM I was given a Pentium 2 (Win 98SE) which I'm fixing up to give to charity. It works fine, but there is no modem card. Does it matter which 56k modem card I install? If it does, how do I figure out which one to install? Thanks in advance. |

I myself like the pci modem with the lucent chipset but if you have any pci modem around should not have no problem to install. I would make sure that all of windows updates have been installed also.If you want to put a good anti virus software on there and it is free to use I would look into using avast.I have been using it for some time and it works well. The home user is free to use but need to register for product key. It updates itself by itself also. Might want to check this out also it will install all the hot fixes. I install it on a 98se machine and it fix some bugs I was having. http://exuberant.ms11.net/98sesp.html If you have any old modems and no drivers post the fccid# from the modem board and we will find them. |
