jcortego Tl Posts: 2 Argentina | Posted - 8/31/2007 7:17:59 AM I have a Motorola SM56 modem. I am using Internet call waiting soft and don't want to hear the noisy modem speaker. I've tried with AT commands (ATM0) to silence the speaker, and it works, but the call waiting soft is unable to detect the waiting call signal when the speaker is silenced. Can I physically disconnect the speaker ? Does it work (Will the software receive the signal) ? Can I make a damage to the modem in doing this ? Thanks in advance for the help. |

Don't know answer for sure to your questions, but if the spkr is on the modem board, and you are able to disconnect it (would probably require de-soldering tool and circuit board skill to successfully complete) it could be a solution. Aloha! Richard. |
