From what I can see, I may be out of luck as it seems not many modems are supported formally by Microsoft as of yet for ME and I happened to get one that wasn't. I have read the site fairly thoroughly, but don't see any solution to the instability (machine freezing, internet games freezing, hangups) as well as it's slow connection speeds (16kps to 37kps). I had a LAN card also in my machine, but got rid of it to prevent chances of conflict. I tested my phone line on my old modem and it connected at just under 50kps. Do you have any idea on how a somewhat novice modem wielder can make the thing hum? I know sometimes strings help, but don't quite know how to select them nor It is model number 3CP5699A. Thanks for any help!!! |

JWW Tl Posts: 25 | Posted - 10/5/2000 7:47:22 AM Think this is a winmodem. Some models still not supported under ME. Check the 3com website which is continually updated. Hope this helps a bit. JJ |
