JerryM Tl Posts: 1 Australia | Posted - 6/20/2000 4:49:18 AM I have an internal Sportster 56k Voice Win modem (Dell OEM) which worked perfectly at 28.8k. Stupidly I used the 3COM Wizard to "upgrade". Since then the connection, albeit ranging from 33k to 38k, is hopelessly unreliable, disconnecting after a few minutes or even seconds.VERY FRUSTRATING (and expensive!). From what I can see of the error messages they mention " unable to retrain". Not being skilled at interrogating and diagnosing the modem I am at a loss how to proceed. I'd even settle for removing the upgrade if possible. Any help much appreciated |

See www.808news.com/56k/trouble2.htm Since you have Winmodem and driver is only software files on your hd, you may have old driver and be able to revert to it. I would check performance w/ the new driver calling other ISPs first - http://808news.com/56k/trouble4.htm Aloha, |
