kjunior Tl Posts: 1 Mali | Posted - 8/31/2005 1:33:07 PM when I try to connect to my ISP I have the following error: there were no dial tone. when i check the modem (query modem) ethry thing is ok. So I don't now no more what to do. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Sorry for my english |
v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 9/1/2005 9:04:10 PM You can: Try testing modem using Hyperterminal connected directly to modem COM port as described at www.modemsite.com/56k/x2-hyperterm.asp In particular, see the Using Hyperterminal page after you've got Hyperterminal running for commands to dial and to disable dial-tone detection www.modemsite.com/56k/usehyper.asp You do not say what kind of modem/chipset you have - there are differences in phone lines among countries, and most modems come with parameters for a number of countries - if the modem works (with dial-tone detection disabled), you may be able to just add that init string for your normal dial-up connection (x1 in extra settings)....
