S32=34 disables x2. Strings are used to change default settings; what is it you're wanting to do?

nothing specificly i just want to know what strings do what for my model modem.. i am all new to this. i get a pretty crapy connection when i connect to the internet. i have updated all drivers and checked my connection even had phone company check lines. they said thier is no reason for not getting better connection.my isp is my phone company.. someone told me to try disabling x2 or try someother strings?????? i connect at 28.8 almost all the time on occasion i will connect at 26.4 and i can't get dsl or cable here.but anyway that is my situation. thanks for the info..

It disables "TX Level Deviation", and enables some people to achieve a better connection speed.

hey all thanks for the help i used the string that disables x2 and i went from and average of 26.4 to 31.2 and for me that was a big improvement. then i read in another topic to add commas after the dial up # and *WOW* i dont know how but i now connect at a cool 40,000 almost ever time, sometimes more. can someone tell me why this is!! what does the commas have to do with it? when i dont use them i connect at 31.2 but with them i connect at 40. or above....please advise...
