Hey!

1). Yea, I'm running Windows Me with Internet Explorer 6.

2). It's the new 5686D V.92 External. Default DIP Switches, on Com 1.

I was going to upload the latest firmware for the Modem, but as it turns out, you can only use Control Center to do that. Modem Update Wizard needs a .exe file now I tried to locate the original version of MUW designed by USR before they merged with 3Com. It allowed you to use the .DMF files to update, but I couldn't locate it.

All I can suggest is to make sure you have the latest update to Control Center. Funny how you have to be able to get into the program completely in order to update. So here it is:

ftp://usrcontrolcenter:usrcontrolcenter@totalservice.usr.com/ControlCenter_for_external_modems_4_00_018_english__april_27_2001.exe

Yes, it works. Thank you Volor.

I have WindowsNT, ServicePack6, 5686D v.92 external modem connected at com2.

I did an Instant Update to flash my modem, then I noticed that when I click "Call Control" tab, there is no V.92 modulations.

My ISP is V.90. I have call waiting, calling ID services from the phone company. What I really want to do is to use ICN (Internet Call Notification), so that I can get notified if I received a call when I am on line. Is it possible or I have to change my ISP to support V.92?

I tried to install the ICN(buzme.exe) downloaded from www.usr.com, but haven't got it working so far?

I don't really know, John...I don't even HAVE Call Waiting.

I'm not very familiar with "ICN", but I don't recall seeing it as having a relation to V.92. I think that's just Modem on hold, meaning you can talk to people while you're connected if you get a call. As for call notification, I don't know, sorry.
