I have a USR Internet Gaming Modem, and have used the &U26 command to limit the minimum connection speed to 40000. When it connects lower than that, it does not achieve carrier, but does not hang up on its own. This forces me to click cancel and connect every 3-5 seconds until it finally gets a good speed. At the 56k=v.unreliable site, it sounds like its supposed to disconnect on its own when a carrier is not achieved. If there is a way to get my modem to do that for me, i would be very thankful to find out how.
