| carmack Tl Posts: 2 | Posted - 1/8/2002 6:46:04 AM    My modem is 455668-01.A telephone is connected to the modem.But when my friends call me, after I pick up the phone, besides my friend' voice, there are a lot of modem screaming noise coming in. I must turn off the modem so I can talk to my friend. As I know, the Modem should not respond when I pick up the phone handset to talk to my friend. Anyone knows about it? Pls help me. I wrote many to USR but no reply. 3COM sucks! Hardware is not good as some other venders, supporting is also no good. Regret for buying it. |
| v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 1/9/2002 4:50:59 PM  Modem set to auto-answer? Change it so it's not. AT S0=0 disables auto-answer. Check your modem log - you may have software voice/ans mach/fax that is running & set for auto-answer. Aloha, |
