That way the next task will avoid the delay of dialing & hashing! ( This is between two company sites ) Two problems therefore, how to avoid the hangup ( should be easy with a swith style sportster ) and how to bypass the dial sequence if we are connected! All suggestions appreciated! thx Mike |

I can loop within a script, but that makes it hard to manipulate the reporting files, and I need to know immediately if the page is NOT accepted. I'd rather just load the Kermit routine and test for CD, if it's there send, if no CD, then dial. BOTH NT and UNIX close the port, no big deal, but I'd like the modem to NOT hang up, and I hoped there was a register or command to tell the modem NOT to hang up even if the port is closed. Years ago I had way too much trouble getting the modems to hang up, now I can't stop them ! Bad Karma, I guess |

v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 2/20/2002 12:30:48 PM As long as the other end doesn't hang up, you should be able to do it by changing the DTR control option (data terminal ready) - set the modem to ignore it. Oops - I don't know what's wrong with me - I put a link for LT Win Modem and you've got a USR! Aloha! Richard. Edited by - v.Richard on 2/20/02 12:54:51 PM |
