| mudcat11 Tl Posts: 2 USA | Posted - 2/23/2002 8:27:31 PM    i can use the control center to tweak my modem settings...5610a,but the instant update will not work.if i am online the control center does not detect the modem.if i try to connect to the internet with control center already opened...my connect will not dial up.only time i can use the control center is when the modem is not in active use.i would like to try the v92 upgrade.( i know...DONT DO IT.)would like the option.os is win me.athlon 1gz thx,jim |

| pacman43 Tl Posts: 1 USA | Posted - 3/15/2002 5:10:32 AM I have the same problem with controlcenter. I have a usr 5686-03 external v90. I tried to flash to V92 following directions from 3com exactly. Controlcenter wants to pull files from the web even though the flash is supposed to be self contained in the downloaded file. When I fire up controlcenter while connected it tells me that the modem is in use by another program. Anyone have any ideas on this?? Thanks, Kevin |
| Crawdad3000 Tl Posts: 1 USA | Posted - 3/16/2002 2:39:39 AM I too had the same problem and this worked for me. First I open Control Center and let it find my modem. Don't click on the modem icon thats up in the left hand corner just yet. Now log on to the internet. After your on the net click the modem icon and away you go.
