For those people who bought the External Fax Modem (5686xx), I've found a way to flash it back. use a browser to go to ftp://totalservice.usr.com' Target='blank'>ftp://totalservice.usr.com' Target='blank'>ftp://totalservice.usr.com' Target='blank'>ftp://totalservice.usr.com (the ftp:// part is REQUIRED) then, it should bring up an error that says something about no anonymous logins. Using Internet Explorer, right-click the empty white space in the center of the screen and choose "Login As...". Use the name usr568603 and password usr568603 You should now see a whole bunch of xxxx5686x_x_x.dmf files Choose the one that you want, and then drag it to your desktop. AFter doing so, disconnect and use ControlCenter. Choose Flash from Disk. browse to your desktop and choose that flash file. |
Troubled_user Tl Posts: 263 USA | Posted - 3/8/2002 12:58:00 PM I'm sure there's other logins, but I only found one more: Controlcenter is UsrControlCenter UsrControlCenter. One way to find these for dialup users is to pay attention to the little Instant Updater dialog thing during updates. Right after it starts saying xxx bytes received, blow into the phone and hang it up. Notice how the number freezes while the modem retrains. During this time, quickly scroll up in the dialog (drag some text with the cursor going up) and look around where all the connecting and login info is. You may have to blow more than once if you aren't fast enough |
thomcav Tl Posts: 1 Argentina | Posted - 4/4/2002 9:24:39 PM Seen your post about totalservice and controlcenter. I need to flash these two: oem PCI no voice no winmodem 2977 and ISA 66174981 Voice no winmodem ISA modem. USR/3com wont help at all!. Can you give me a hint (usernamme & password) for any of these two modems? |
Troubled_user Tl Posts: 263 USA | Posted - 4/5/2002 12:47:23 PM ControlCenter is for V92 modems only. The thing about USR is that they don't keep older drivers. Do you want NEW drivers or OLD drivers? |
