Bzipper Tl Posts: 1 USA | Posted - 3/21/2002 8:52:33 AM Have a problem that is just confusing the heck outta me. I have used two different modems and emulated the exact same problem. I have used two different phone lines and also emulated the exact same problem. Problem: When system is first connected and powered up the modem will dial out and connect perfectly. Once you sign off, you can not reconnect unles you unplug the modem from the wall jack and then plug it back in..it will then reconnect perfectly. I have tried reconfiguring, reinstalling, ( under Win98), I have added a delay before dialup, even tried a different ISP...all the same problem. I just can't seem to isolate it..thanks for any ideas guys...Bzipper |

If modem does hang up, you probably aren't disconnecting/signing off properly. Aloha! Richard. |

Chillidog Tl Posts: 6 USA | Posted - 3/27/2002 8:03:22 AM Try calling the phone company about the jacks. They may be faulty. Have you tried getting new phone cords? I know it sounds too simple, but it worked for me. |
Ruth Tl Posts: 22 USA | Posted - 4/3/2002 10:06:19 AM Hello, I had that problem once. I called my ISP and they said to press CTRL + ALT + DELETE once, look for rnaapp, highlight it, and click on end task. You may have to do that more than once. It's my understanding that a computer virus may be causing that problem. |
