I installed a US Robotics 3CP5610A in a new Dell 4400 with
Windows XP. I'm experiencing frequent disconnects with this
modem. At AT13 it shows Rev 5.22.16. Are there any newer
modem drivers available that might eliminate frequent disconnects? I was using a 5610 modem on my old computer and using the same phone lines without any disconnects.

The "driver" (the .inf file) has nothing to do with modem performance on h/w modem - it's the flash firmware that may make a difference.
Check and post results of ati6i11y11 after disconnect
using Hyperterminal

Thank you very much for trying to help me out, but my main
problem is that I'm 61 years of age and I'm "computer iliterate" when it comes to learning these new testing procedures. I tried both the hyperterminal and modemchk.exe
without any results. I'll have to see if someone locally can help me out. Thanks again. |
