This is one of USR's Conexant based modems, minimum requirement would be a 233Mhz MMX processor, while you might get it installed on a 166Mhz machine (provided you have a MMX compatible processor) it'd most likely slow the system down.

When you first put the modem in the computer and boot up, Windows should first find a 'PCI Communications Device', this is the modem's virtual serial port and it should be installed with the modem's drivers. Once this is properly installed Windows will find and install the modem.

If Windows isn't detecting the PCI Communications Device then check in the Device Manager for a 'Other' device (large yellow question mark) posing as the above device, remove it if found. Then click the Refresh button.

Have you figured out how to get your computer to detect your pci modem ? I have the same problem.
But if I put in an Aopen or other kinds it picks them up no problem.

Have you removed all modem drivers from the add/remove program, removed all modem entrys from the device manager, unknown device ,other device. DO search on your hardrive for 3095_win9x file and run the infunist.exe in the file. Also look in the windows inf folder for files for this modem and remove.Look in windows other folder for inf file for this modem and remove. Is this modem listed in the control panel, double click the modem icon,if so high light and remove.Go to start, run and type in regedit.Go to local machine, enum, pci and look for USR\VEN_14F1&DEV_2F10&SUBSYS_201316EC and remove.reboot and windows should find new hardware.
