| nailsea robin Tl Posts: 2 United Kingdom | Posted - 1/15/2004 10:01:13 AM    My daughter bought a EISystems 5025 when the modem is plugged in it makes the phone ring continually and i have tried to install AOL for her and it dials to locate numbers and all you can hear is hang up and try again. i tried to connect using outlook express and it says no dailing signal found i tested the modem connectio0n on a phone and there is a dialing tone this is the 2nd machine she has had as she returned the first one because of the same problem any answers? |
| v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 1/18/2004 9:51:08 AM  The line cord (from modem to phone jack) may not be correct. UK wiring at the jack and beyond I don't think is same as in US, but modems are always the same - they require line signal on the middle-2 pins of the 4-pin 'line' jack. (T/R or Tip/Ring). There should be NO connection to the outer 2 pins of the modem's Line jack - the line cord from modem to jack should have only 2 wires actually connected through. Aloha! Richard. |
