I have 1 US Robotics 56k Serial Modem this both sends and receives. I need to sent out a bulk fax shot, so I purchased 4 USB Modems (Mentor USB with Rockwell Chip) these are picked up as software modems rather than hardware like the US Robotics.
I installed all 4 Modems and they came up with no problems in device manager, but only one shows up in the fax service. If you query any of the other modems that are not showing up you receive. The Port that the modem is attached to could not be opened. This may be a result of Hardware Conflict.
It only seems to allow use of one software modem at a time. I then Installed a PCI Modem, that was again picked up in Device manager fine and showing as a software modem. When I requeryed the 1 USB modem that was working, that came up with the same error as above and I could only query the new PCI modem and US Robotics Serial. How can I get this to work as I desire. 1 Recieving Modem and 3 Sending Modems I think the problem is using multiple Winmodems that are all trying to use the same port...but unsure of this Any help will be gratefully appreciated Regards Dave
