fellow-villager Tl Posts: 1 Russia | Posted - 6/16/2004 1:03:02 AM If I use Lucent Winmodem driver and Synaptics touchpad driver (on COM1) I have the problem with any connections via modem. Windows 2000 reboot itself. I have no problem with connections via other modem (mobile phones on COM2 and COM4). After deleting Synaptics touchpad driver all work OK. Also I have no problems when I used NT4. |

Have you tried the update drivers at synaptics? http://www.synaptics.com/support/downloads.cfm Might disable com1 in the bios reinstall the modem, remove the touchpad drivers, reboot and reinstall and see if the touchpad will go to other port. |

You cannot install the Synaptics TouchPad driver until this process is complete and your touchPad is functioning as a normal pointing device. Log on to your system as "Administrator", or as another user with administrator privileges. Run "Setup.exe". This program will automatically install the Synaptics TouchPad driver to handle all PS/2 and Serial pointing devices attached to your computer. You will need to restart Windows after the installation is complete. If the driver has been installed correctly, after you have restarted Windows you should see the TouchPad Icon in your task bar next to the clock. Also, a dialog box entitled "Information about your TouchPad" will pop up. You can prevent this dialog box from coming up in the future by checking the "Stop showing me this message" checkbox. |
