First I don't speak a good english because I'm spanish.

I have a modem Us Robotics 5630B 56k Faxmodem, since 15 days and I have a problem, my modem conects ok, but the connection dies at the few minutes. The ISP is ok because I can conneted with another modem without problems. I think fails the configuration of the modem.

The problem is the same with: XP; Win 98,.....

I hope you can undestand the post.

Connection problems with any external serial modem can relate directly to the COM port (U.A.R.T.) speed limit (bottleneck).

You can upgrade your computer with a PCI serial card capable of speed greater than 115.2K throughput or configure your modem to use STAC compression.
