Clive Smith Tl Posts: 1 United Kingdom | Posted - 5/5/2005 3:40:37 AM Hi, I am not able to get a landline telephone so telefonica (Spain) have supplied a "wireless connection" for my phone I am trying to connect my computer but there is a long delay (about 15 seconds) from when the dial finishes and the server at the other end answers, my computer will not connect. I have taken the computer to someone with a land line and it works perfectly. I am using Windows ME I would be grateful if someone can help !! Thanks Clive |
v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 5/16/2005 10:23:19 PM It could be more than the delay - the wireless connection may introduce other problems for dial-up modems; BUT - you can change the amount of time the modem waits before giving up with no carrier - this can be set in connectoid properties, or via direct command (initialization) to modem: AT s7 = # - # of seconds modem waits for carrier after dialing I would suggest using Hyperterminal connected directly to modem com port for testing as you may need to introduce other protocol or speed limit commands in order to get a connection.
