I downloaded the drivers from gateway for my modem and tried installing them. I can dial but that is all it does...dials. Does not connect. does not give me an error messages. I did as the windows troubleshooter suggested and in DOS checked to see if the port was recognized and it wasn't. It would be com3. I only had com1 recognized. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to get my modem working? I have tried reading the site but I am afraid most of it went right over my head. thanks |
v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 6/3/2005 9:56:32 AM If a modem dials but does not connect, it's probably dialing the wrong number. Check your connectoid properties/ create a new connectoid www.modemsite.com/56k/connectoid.asp Check your modemlog (or post it here) The BCM is a softmodem which creates its own COM port - it does not use one of your PC's "real" com ports. As for does not connect/ does not give error message - that doesn't sound correct ---- Aloha! Richard. |
