My built-in ESS56CVM-PI Data-Fax modem (HP notebook n3390)supplies no drivers for Win 3.11 (Win 98 native OS). Unless there's some download I've overlooked for this built-in ESS modem, what I really want is a driver and any necessary "*.inf" file for an old PCMCIA card that might work. The PCMCIA card is a 56k X2 and V.34/V.80 fax/modem, bearing a generic, taped-on sticker, with the name "Chem 34550 11/7/97." The floppy disk that came with this PC Card has an "*.inf" that works only with Win 95/98. Alas. I want any driver that will work with this PC Card on Win 3.11, even at a slower speed than 56 k. Any suggestions? |
| v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 10/31/2005 7:27:48 AM  The problem is way more complicated than an .inf file - ESS = software modem and I don't think there's anyway anytime anyhow you'll ever get it to work in Win 3.x. Aloha! Richard. |
