I have been using broadband for the last six months and have gone back to dialup. I have an Agere that I purchased from Modemsite. My MOH doesn't work. I call my home phone and get a busy signal. I'm probably doing something incorrectly but don't know what it is. Also, sometime my modem makes the connection sounds and sometimes it doesn't. Please help.

If you get a busy signal, either you don't have call waiting on the phone line, or you have disabled call waiting (via a *## code before the number you are dialing).

Connection sound is controlled via speaker settings in ControlPanel/Modems and/or via the init string
ATM#
where # = 0 for modem speaker off; 1= modem speaker on until carrier detected; 2= modem speaker always on.

ATL# sets the volume for the speaker.

Aloha! Richard.

Thanks. Yes, I figured it out. I had put the *70 in front of my number and disabled the call waiting. The sound came back after that. I have been use to cable, so I had forgotten how to configure my modem. Thanks though.
