every night about 9:23 pm my computer dails up phone connection to my local server where i purchase my internet. computer does this by itself and it started this week.

You have some software application set to automatically connect to the Internet.
This could be from a setting in connectoid/Internet Explorer to 'automatically connect' whenever an Internet connection is needed

or, from a particular piece of software that has its own settings for making a connection.

To eliminate it: make sure you do *not* have any software set to automatically make an internet connection if needed;
if you still have problem, delete all connectoids; then, re-create a connectoid after examining settings on various software that accesses internet including Internet Explorer, e-mail, anti-virus, etc.
