| callwill Tl Posts: 2 USA | Posted - 11/18/2005 4:08:53 PM    I've used LT & agere winmodems for years-usually go thru 1 a year...when the last refused to work i got a new one... W98se wont recognize either in any pci slot( i tried a third too). It recognizes this Broadexnt modem though(slow). Windows refuses to acknowledge the agere modem no matter what i've done. When i've forced a driver install it wants to be on com1-used to go to com2 with nothing in com1 but on restart...no modem. Any help? | callwill Tl Posts: 2 USA | Posted - 11/22/2005 3:43:17 PM Turns out it is not windows(98se) nor my PC. 2 of the 3(all the same)new agere modems i have(enf656-gsw-apgr) either don't work or are not win98se compatible...every thing else we have tried installs no problem....I guess that just because it says so on the box doesn't mean it is true... Now lets see if the company i ordered them from will take them all back(i didn't try the 3rd).
