| The Pope Tl Posts: 1 USA | Posted - 1/13/2006 9:03:29 AM    Im currently having trouble with my modem, i dont even know if its a 56k modem, the highest it ever connects on AOL/Netzero is 2800bps, its a HSP56 modem by PCtel. I hope my phone line even supports 56k, ive tried the line tests from USS Robotics but its either busy or not answered. Maybe its my computer? I have a Celeron 733mhz, 128 RAM, and Geforce 4. But im getting a new comp in a week with a better modem that supports V.90. I ping around 400-600 in Counter strike and all the other 56kers get 200-300...i hope my new computer fixes this and its not my phone line i dont want to get that upgraded.. |
| v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 1/14/2006 5:10:55 PM  My experience has been that the USR line test # has been out of service (same as you experience) when I've tried it recently.... If you don't want to wait for new computer/modem, you could start with the demarc test to see if you get better connect rate Aloha! Richard. |
