| solomon Tl Posts: 1 USA | Posted - 2/21/2006 8:43:09 AM     Hi, I have a friend who wants me to take a look at his modem problem. The modem works fine, all diags check out. When dialing the ISP, the modem gives a no dial tone message, when the phone is truned on the modem dials out. Has anyone experienced this? solomon |
| v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 2/22/2006 4:55:23 PM Possibilities include: The line cord is connected to the wrong jack on the modem - phone line cord needs to be connected between live phone jack and 'line' jack on modem; The line cord is bad or, it may need to be one that has only 2 wires connected through to each end; The modem is damaged (the DAA - interface between modem & phone line bad) www.modemsite.com/56k/lightning.asp
